Freight Charges

What is Terminal Handling Charge (THC)?

Port/terminal fees for handling a container at origin or destination.

THC (Terminal Handling Charge) covers the cost of moving a container within the port terminal — loading, discharging, stacking and transfer. It is charged at both origin and destination, is separate from ocean freight, and varies by port, so it is a frequent source of surprise on an all-in quote.
