What is Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit (TEU)?
The standard capacity unit equal to one 20-foot container.
A TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit) is the standard unit of container capacity: one 20-foot container equals one TEU, and a 40-foot container equals two TEU (an FEU). Ports, ships and statistics are measured in TEU, making it the common currency of container shipping volumes.
