Freight Charges
What is Currency Adjustment Factor (CAF)?
A surcharge offsetting exchange-rate movements on freight priced in a foreign currency.
CAF (Currency Adjustment Factor) is a percentage surcharge carriers apply to offset exchange-rate fluctuations between the currency of the freight rate and their operating costs. It accompanies BAF as one of the standard variable surcharges layered on the base ocean-freight rate.
